Anarchy in May: David Lipscomb on Virtue in Politics

The following is part of the Anarchy in May series which examines Christian anarchism and quotes prominent Christian anarchist thinkers. For a more detailed introduction and a table of contents, please see Anarchy in May: Brief Introduction and Contents.
It seems only fitting to begin the month with a quote from perhaps my favorite Christian anarchist of all (though he would have never applied that term to himself), David Lipscomb:

The rule of justice, right and virtue in political affairs is a hallucination or dream that will never be realized.
